Read Ahead’s reading-based mentoring develops in students the social-emotional skills essential for academic and life-long success. During the 2018-2019 school year, we are partnering with 15 public elementary schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens and plan to reach nearly 1,000 students through our weekly reading-based mentoring program.
Through over 15,000 mentoring sessions held annually, our students develop confidence in their abilities, motivation to learn, and improve the skills needed to succeed in school and in life. Books donated through your book drive will help create a fun and meaningful experience for students. As a reminder, Read Ahead serves children in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
